Stichting Cultuurbedrijf Noordoostpolder (Cultuurbedrijf Noordoostpolder Foundation)

Cultuurbedrijf Noordoostpolder, the Center for Amateur Art and Cultural Education, is part of the Stichting Cultuurbedrijf Noordoostpolder. It is an independent foundation with a cultural ANBI status. Stichting Cultuurbedrijf Noordoostpolder consists of 4 divisions across 3 locations: Cultuurbedrijf Noordoostpolder (the Center for Amateur Art and Cultural Education), Theater ’t Voorhuys, Museum Schokland, and Kunstuitleen Emmeloord.

1. Cultuurbedrijf Noordoostpolder

Cultuurbedrijf Noordoostpolder (formerly the Muzisch Centrum) is the Center for Amateur Art and Cultural Education in the Noordoostpolder. Approximately 1,200 students take weekly lessons in music, visual arts, drama, and dance. Additionally, Cultuurbedrijf Noordoostpolder provides a broad range of arts programs for primary and secondary education in the region.

2. Theater ’t Voorhuys

Theater ’t Voorhuys (formerly an independent foundation) programs around 80 professional performances annually, about 20 amateur productions, and approximately 30 commercial events. It is a mid-sized theater with a seating capacity of 520. For more information, visit theater-voorhuys.nl.

3. Museum Schokland

In 1995, the former island of Schokland and its surroundings were added to UNESCO’s prestigious World Heritage List. The permanent exhibition presents the rich history of Schokland Island and its preceding eras. The museum regularly organizes exhibitions in geology, archaeology, history, and art. It also hosts public events such as the Scandinavia Market, World Heritage Weekend, Museum Weekend, and classical concerts. Museum Schokland was previously part of the Cultural Affairs Department of the Municipality of Noordoostpolder.

4. Kunstuitleen Emmeloord

Kunstuitleen Emmeloord is located within Cultuurbedrijf Noordoostpolder and has a broad and diverse collection of over 900 works by renowned contemporary artists. Kunstuitleen Emmeloord regularly organizes exhibitions, lectures, workshops, and other activities in collaboration with Cultuurbedrijf Noordoostpolder. Cultuurbedrijf Noordoostpolder adheres to the Governance Code Culture and ensures that its statutes and regulations align with it as much as possible. Policy

Cultuurbedrijf Noordoostpolder is the main implementation organization for the realization of municipal cultural policy. It achieves its objectives based on the following four mandates:

1. Education: Cultural education for primary and secondary education
2. Talent development: Lessons and courses in the arts
3. Stages: Performance space for both professional and amateur productions
4. Heritage museum, exhibition function, and art lending
