Join the RUUMclub
The RUUMclub is the youth council of RUUM: a group of young people from Flevoland who think along, participate, and help organize. They come up with exhibitions, choose themes, collaborate with artists, and guide what RUUM does. Young people aged 12 to 20 are the voice of young Flevoland. Do you want to share your ideas or contribute to the next edition? Join the RUUMclub! We are always looking for new thinkers, creators, and dreamers.
About RUUM
RUUM was born from a shared desire of three Flevoland museums – Jij bent M. (Almere), Museum Batavialand (Lelystad), and Museum Schokland – to involve young people more actively in art and culture. From this ambition, a funding application was submitted to the Ministry of Education, Culture, and Science (OCW), which helps make this initiative possible.
With the support of OCW, we are working on a cultural collective that not only allows young people to look at art but also lets them actively participate, create, and think about what culture means in Flevoland.
The daily organization of RUUM is handled by a working group of four people who, together with young people, schools, artists, and cultural institutions, develop projects and exhibitions. This way we are building a Flevoland where art and culture increasingly belong to, are for, and are created by young people.
