The Lightkeeper

In a unique location, at the northern tip of Schokland, stands the national monument The Lightkeeper.

The Lightkeeper is available for hire for any occasion. The catering options are very varied and are provided by Restaurant Schokland. A meeting, team day, Friday afternoon drinks, party or anniversary: everything is possible. Meetings can accommodate up to 16 people, lectures up to a maximum of 30 people, and a party indoors can host a maximum of 50 people.

In nice weather, the garden is a lovely place to unwind or host a garden party with a barbecue. And be sure to enjoy the beautiful view.

National Monument

The Lightkeeper’s house is one of the few original buildings on Schokland from the island period. The building was constructed in 1901 by the Dutch Water Authority. The harbor master of Emmeloord was also the 'lightkeeper' of the lighthouse. The Lightkeeper, together with the nearby foghorn building, is listed as a national monument.
