Discover World Heritage site Schokland

Explore nature and history

Schokland is a unique place in the Netherlands where nature, history, and tranquility come together. The former island, now a UNESCO World Heritage site, is especially suited for exploring by bike or on foot. Whether you choose a leisurely walk or an active bike ride, you will experience Schokland at your own pace. Start your journey with a visit to Museum Schokland.

Walking through the landscape

For hikers, World Heritage site Schokland offers a network of beautiful routes along ancient mounds, historical sites, and expansive polder landscapes. Along the way, you'll pass unique locations such as the former harbor, the church ruins, and the museum. The open surroundings provide stunning views and make every walk worthwhile.

Biking on the former island

With a bike, you can easily explore the entire area and see even more in a short time. The flat paths and quiet roads make it suitable for everyone, from recreational cyclists to families with children. There are plenty of places along the way to stop and enjoy the scenery.

Bike rental
