For children

Museum Schokland is the perfect starting place to discover the former island in the Zuiderzee. Both inside and outside, there is plenty to see and experience at the museum. Young visitors can test their knowledge about Ice Age animals or take a close look at a pole worm. Or they can get to work as an archaeologist or dike builder. A special feature is the interactive sandpit, where visitors can build their own landscape.

Wollie and Bollie

Meet our museum characters Wollie, the woolly mammoth, and Bollie, the glacial boulder. They will teach you more about the Ice Age and where the glacial boulders on Schokland come from. Then help Wollie find Bollie and his friends in the sandpit. Collect the fun colored beach pebbles and keep them in the cute Wollie storage tin. This can be purchased at the museum shop's cash register.

Outside

There is plenty to discover and enjoy outside. Children can play on the natural play elements. Swinging, climbing, digging in the sand, or playing with water, there is plenty to experience.
