Description
This large metal buoy was found by workers after the Noordoostpolder was drained, between Ramspol and Schokland. It was likely used to mark a navigation channel in the past. The buoy served as a trophy at the workers' camp Schokland in the 1940s, featuring an appropriate inscription: ‘What the sea gave back to us’.
Today, it has a second life in the outdoor area of Museum Schokland.
