Description

This predator lived during the last Ice Age in Europe and was also present in our country. 

The cave lion was larger than the current African lion. It could reach a shoulder height of up to 1.5 meters and a length of over 2 meters.
They went extinct about 10,000 years ago. 

This jawbone of a cave lion from the museum collection was found in Flevoland.
