Description

On January 3, 1944, an allied Lancaster crashes between Emmeloord and Marknesse. The crew does not survive the crash.

A small monument stands at the crash site in memory.

A propeller from this aircraft is now displayed outdoors at the museum. It is a tangible reminder of the many planes that crashed or were shot down during WWII in and around the Noordoostpolder.
